MSWA has a limited range of supports and services to assist people continue living in their own home and community.

The Associate Care Program is a block funded grant from the Disability Services Commission, and matched dollar for dollar through our own fundraising efforts, which is used to provide short-term allocations of in home care and supports for Members in their home. This program is only available for people with MS.

The number of care hours allocated to a Member is based on their assessed needs and the availability of the hours and care support workers. Wherever possible appropriate alternative sources of community based care are sourced to replace these hours which then frees them up for other Members in need.

The Flexible Respite Program is a block funded grant from the Disability Services Commission which is used to provide short-term allocations of in and out of home respite hours for people with a disability due to MS or a comparable neurological condition. The number of care hours allocated to a Member is based on their assessed needs and the availability of the hours and care support workers.

The Society manages the funding and provides in home long term care for Members living with their families or alone who have been allocated individual funding packages from the Disability Services Commission through the Combined Application Process.
