MS Research Australia recently released the following statement, in regards to CCSVI trials in Canada:
The Canadian Government recently announced they will be funding future Phase I and II clinical trials into chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI) and multiple sclerosis (MS).
This is of interest to many Australians who live with MS.
It is our understanding that these trials will examine the merit of a procedure to treat CCSVI and its potential relationship with treatment of MS.
MS Australia supports research into the cause and cure of multiple sclerosis and through MS Research Australia we are also studying a particular aspect of the link between CCSVI and MS. Click here for information regarding this study.
We also recognise the importance of global research into the disease as one that affects people around the world, and we eagerly await the research findings from Canada.
MS Research Australia urges people with MS to contact their treating Health Care Practitioner or Neurologist for advice.
